Many find freckles, or ‘ephelides’ as they are called in dermatology, cute. Often they are harmless little brown specks around our nose or cheeks. They are the result of sun exposure and an attempt by our skin to respond to this exposure by packaging melanin pigment to absorb the ultraviolet rays of the sun. Unfortunately in skin that has developed freckles our skin has not packaged this melanin properly and this is displayed as a ‘freckle’.

Removing freckles is a fairly straightforward process and laser treatment is highly effective for treating them. You should see a dermatologist before having any brown spots removed as they may have the potential to be cancerous. A dermatologist can check them to be sure they can be safely removed.

My experience with dr Gladstone was absolutely wonderful. I needed something done for my smile lines. Dr. Gladstone filled the folds around my mouth with radiesse injections and everything went well with virtually no bruising or swelling. He explained the entire procedure so I felt really at ease with everything. He is a completely educated doctor and I was thrilled with the results. I look like someone took a few years off my face. That’s why I definitely recommend Dr. Gladstone for anyone who would like to take a few years off their appearance.
